It decreases you metabolism and causes you body to keep fat stored inside your body. It is also unhealthy. The first thing you need to do is change your eating ways. It may sound like a pain but i have lost 30 pounds in the last 5 months. Eat salads with fat free dressing. I lived off of it for a while. Instead of eating chips eat fruit. Eat baked chicken and fish instead of beef. And eat nothing fried. Buy every food that you get like bread,milk,ect. No fat or low fat. and limit your calories and portions. Eat sensibly. Also excersice Ride a bike take a walk to anything to keep you off the coach. I changed my whole lifestyle.give it a couple of months you will see results.
