If you really want to lose weight I think you need to take control. Counting calories would probably work for you, you are not very tall so stick to 1400 calories a day absolute maximum. Eat fruit and vegetables. You can make them more interesting by slicing them up and making fat-free dips, like cinnamon or nutmeg to dip them in (fruit) or you can get fat-free salsa dips or mustard for veggies. Keep away from red meat, eat chicken or fish but NOT in breadcrumbs, that is really fatty. You need to be careful when you go out to eat, order a salad, or something with vegetables and chicken, NO SAUCES. If you feel that you can, talk to your parents about your worries about your weight, get their support. Stay away from dairy products, if you must have cheese get cottage cheese, it is low fat. Remember, as well as eating healthy food, you still have to restrict your calories if you want to lose weight and you should try to get exercise at least 3-4 times each week, that can be just walking quickly around your block for 20 minutes and try to work towards walking further and faster. It's great that you dance, do extra dancing, dance in your bedroom to music, even doing lots of vaccuuming is exercise. Losing weight is possible, but you have to be strict with yourself, especially about calories and exercise. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! Georgina |
