If you are giving yourself 10 months to lose weight from being only 154. Girl, you are smart. In those 10 months (40 weeks), they say a pound to 2 pounds a week is healthy. If you drink lots of water, you will lose more weight in the beginning. (all the water retention your body has been holding onto because you weren't drinking enough water, will release because the body thinks "hey i'm getting enough water" so it won't hold onto it anymore, and you will lose some of that water weight.) Then by walking, you will burn some odd calories. Try intervals, where you walk for 45 seconds, then jog for 45 seconds. for 45 minutes a day. Your body is meant to move everyday, as you are not weight training the same body part 2 days in a row. (when lifting weights, it is the time when you let your body rest that it builds lean muscle) (that's why it is important to have your 8 hours sleep, lose fat that way!) As for cardio, you can do that daily. Take 1 day a week and maybe do some light walking.
