Don't diet, it's bad for your health and after you're off the diet, you'll just gain the weight back. Start off slowly, like eating healthy foods instead of junk. I reccomend cherries and grapes, since they're really sweet and give you lots of energy. That and spitting out the pits is fun :) Go down a little on your intake of food by distracting yourself when you're hungry. DON'T watch beauty shows or anything with fashion, it will only make you feel bad. Watch cartoons or comedy instead, something that will make you laugh or get caught up in the action. Another good tip would be to not put butter on things, and substitute it for other flavorings, like garlic and olive oil. Hope that helps.
