My daughter is currently on a diet and she is losing steadily and slowly. What are we doing? Working out how many calories a girl of her age and height should be eating and then working out her food allowance from that. It sounds very strict and very boring but it is working and it is amazing how many calories some things are. I have been trawling the supermarkets for low calorie foods so she is eating the foods she loves but in small portions and lower calorie. She is drinking a lot of low calorie soups which are filling her up so she doesn't feel hungry. We have cut out chocolates, cake and some sweets, although there are some low calorie sweets she has. She is eating more fruit when she is hungry plus she is exercising more. If you have a computer at home, start a document and every day write down what you are eating and the calorie content and stick to a certain amount. That is a guaranteed way of losing weight but take advice from a doctor on the correct amount of calories you should be having. Good luck. |
