Reply from Ariel, Age 14 - 1/3/01 - IP#: 131.187.133.215First, just chill!!! Yeah, you may have extra fat on you, but that doesn't mean you're not a person. It doesn't help to throw up. And it doesn't help to starve yourself. If you deprive your body of food, it will go into "starvation mode." That's when it takes what you do eat and stores it as fat because it doesn't know when it'll get more food, so it'll take even longer to lose weight. You NEED food to lose weight. Just eat less of it. Little meals throughout the day should help. If you still feel like you're eating too much, then drink TONS of water. Then you'll feel full. Try switching throwing up for lifting. Lifting weights. Start with about a 5 lb. weight. A good magazine to help you start exercising is "Jump." They have a section on exercising in every issue and even some inspiring stories of other people like you losing weight. You might want to check out "Prevention", too. Just don't look down on yourself. Set a long-term goal for yourself. Then set short-term goals to reach your long-term goal. Remember, don't take it too fast. Remember: GOD LOVES YOU!!!!
