Hi Laura, my name is Steve. I'm a teacher and doing research on kids and weight control. The first thing to remember is that your weight will drop in stages and then level off. Don't freak out about gaining 4lbs. that's natural. My recommendation is to increase you long distance cardio. Good example is to ride the exercise bikes in the gym for 30 minutes or more at a comfortable steady pace. Once a week try some intervals (1 minute intense with 1 minute easy) for 10 minutes. Be sure to warm up with easy spinning for 5 minutes and cool down the same way. This should shock your energy reserves and burn some excess fat. Put in about 2 more days of easy riding for a minimum of 30 minutes along with resistance training (low weights high reps for tone) and you should see a big difference by the first day of school. Be sure to drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Good Luck!!
